Madeleine Vedel is a writer, photographer and teacher. Over a peripatetic life she has become an accomplished goat cheese maker, a culinary tour guide in Provence, a translator and writer of articles and stories. Trained in France, she brings her culinary, wine and cheese know-how across the Atlantic to Northern Michigan. During the winter, she organizes culinary tours out of her home in Avignon, France.

Return Policy (Chocolates)

No returns are possible for a perishable product. Due to the fragility of the product, shipping can only occur during periods of the year that can assure cool daytime temperatures: late fall through early Spring (see availability of product).

Tour Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY:

In the event you would need to cancel the retreat after you have confirmed your participation, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing madeleinevedel@gmail.com

Cancellation six months prior to the tour: You will receive a refund for your deposit less $250 administrative fee per person. Insurance is not included in the fees, and it is up to you to ask international coverage with your insurance carrier, if you so decide

Cancellation six to three months prior to the tour departure: If your spot can be filled by another participant you will receive a refund minus your $250 administrative fee. Otherwise, due to financial obligations towards the house rental, the 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you have already paid in full, you will receive a refund minus the 50% deposit. Alternatively, the deposit (minus the administrative fee) may be applied to a future tour within a calendar year.

Full Payment is required two months prior to the tour dates

Cancellation within three months of the tour: There will be no refund of payment unless we find a replacement. In that case you will receive a refund minus the 50% deposit.

We reserve the right to cancel the retreat or change the program without giving any reason. In the event that a cancellation is necessary, payments will be fully refunded.

House Rental Conditions

Where possible a wire transfer to my French account is preferable. However, a personal check is also acceptable. Half the rental sum is required upon reservation, half a month before the rental begins.

Cancellation six months before the start date of your rental: You will receive a full refund minus an administrative fee of $250.

Cancellation six to three months before the start date of your rental: If the rental can be filled by another renter then you will receive a full refund minus the $250 administrative fee.

Cancellation three months or less before the start date of your rental: If you can find a replacement renter, then a full refund minus the $250 administrative fee will be given to you. However, if not, the deposit is non-refundable.
