Provence Fiber Arts Tour March 13-24, 2025

My personal passion is knitting, and yours?

The world of fiber arts is both intimate and marvelously diverse. Eco-dyeing, quilting, weaving, felting, sewing.. There’s the pleasure of mastering new skills, acquiring fluency and familiarity with the multitude of materials that we transform into wearable art and beyond. As a knitter it’s been a voyage of discovery as I play with wool - natural, undyed, superwashed, lace weight to worsted - , splurge on cashmere, and begin to comprehend the unique qualities of mohair, silk, and linen.

Thus, when approached to design a Fibery Arts tour in Provence I took to the quest with gusto, and voila the result. A 10 day traipse through little villages and ancient cities, to view the traditions of the centuries before us, to visit with contemporary artists and farmers eager to share their craft, to create new projects together, as well as collect wool/mohair/cloth and beyond. Details below
